WaxGoblin
Keep track of your vinyl collection.
WaxGoblin catalogs your records. Point your Android phone at a record's barcode, check the details it finds, and save it. Then search your collection, fix or add details whenever you like, and browse it all on a touchscreen at home.
What it does
- Scan to add. The app reads the barcode and looks the record up on Discogs, so the title, artist, label, year and cover art are filled in for you. No camera? Type the digits.
- Edit anything. Fix a detail, set the condition, and note where you keep each record, such as “Shelf B, row 2”. Records keep both their pressing year and the year the album first came out.
- Search. Find a record by title, artist, label or genre, and narrow it by decade and genre.
- Collection report. See your collection by format, condition, genre and decade.
- A display for your shelf. A Raspberry Pi with a touchscreen shows your cover art as a slideshow and lets you search and edit your collection by touch.
